For Tengger tribe, Mount Bromo volcano is believed to be sacred. Once a year,Tengger tribe held a ceremony Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo. The ceremony was held at atemple which is under the foot of Mount Bromo and proceed north to the top of MountBromo. The ceremony was held at midnight to early morning every full moon around 14or 15 in Kasodo (tenth) according to the Javanese calendar.
